Intouch/ Wonderware A² Facorysuite

Intouch, onderdeel uitmakend van de "Factory suite" wordt
onwikkeld door Wonderware, Lake Forest, Califonia.
Wonderware is een business unit van het Britse Invensys plc. Invensis is het
concern wat het nederlandse Baan heeft overgenomen. Andere buisness units
van Invensys zijn APV, Avantis, Esscor, Eurotherm, Foxboro, PacSim, SIMSCI,
en Triconex.

Intouch 9.0
Pakketbeschrijving :
Het pakket draait sinds jaar en dag op de Windows Platformen.
De visualisatie (Intouch) is geintergreerd met de verschillende componenten van
de FactorySuite waaronder Tracking en Tracing, Batching en de industriele
database Industrial SQL server.
Key selling points :
- Vroeger waren alle drivers
gebaseerd op (Fast) DDE, vandaag
kent men naast Fast DDE ook OPC. Communicatie onderling door NETDDE, op
sommige plaatsen is dit vervangen door TCPIP direct
- Intouch heeft een eigen scripttaal
- Visualisatie, data accesss, historische dataopslag, alarm logging, event
handling, rapportage en analyse tools.
- Voor de graphics zijn er rapidly developing tools
- InTouch is "Internet enabled";
Via een standaard browser is de database te zien. De graphics worden
automatisch geconverteerd.
- InTouch loopt op Microsoft
Windows 95/SP1 , 98 SE en NT 4.0 SP5 operating systems
Architecture
Wonderwares Intouch 9.0 is part of the Wonderware A² Facorysuite. The A²
Factorysuite is the successor of the Factory suite 2000 of which was Intouch 8.0
part of.
The heart of the A² Facorysuite is the Industrial Application Server (IAS) and
not the SCADA product Intouch. The IAS provides a unified environment for
visualization, plant history, device communications and automation application
integration.
The Industrial Application Server serves as central application engine and
application distributor, holds the configuration and execution of Application
objects (high level composed objects). The framework that copes with these
Application Objects is called ArchestrA. The Intouch 9.0 nodes serve merely as a
client and are thinner compared with the Intouch 8.0 nodes. Intouch 9.0 can also
be used without Industrial Application Server.
Benefits of using the Industrial Application Server with InTouch 9.0 against
Factory Suite 2000 and Intouch 8.0 include:

· Common system services for alarming, security, history, events, scripting,

IndustrialSQL Server is the historian for Industrial Application Server.
IO collection is done by tag servers (Intouch nodes, OPC servers or IAS)
Basic architecture
Intouch 9.0 in a Intouch 9.0 only system clients adress direct the OPC adres or
DDE adress. The OPC server or DDE server holds the IO data points .
InTouch supports a Distributed Alarm System. That allows the display of alarms
and events generated by the local InTouch application and by alarm systems of
other networked InTouch applications. Alarms can be acknowledged on the local
InTouch node or from a remote node on the network.
InTouch provides a distributed history system that allows retrieval of
historical data from any InTouch 5.6 (or later) application, even those across a
network. This system extends the capabilities of the standard InTouch history by
allowing remote retrieval of data from multiple historical databases
simultaneously. These databases are referred to as history providers. Up to
eight history providers can be displayed simultaneously, one for each historical
trend chart pen.
Note History providers can be configured as native InTouch history or
IndustrialSQL (InSQL) history providers.

Intouch offers 2 protocols for exchanging data between nodes :

OPCLink acts as a gateway for the OPC client, and at the same time, as a
high-performance SuiteLink server.

SuiteLink offers data communication in the Windows NT environment for high
throughput, peer-to-peer communications among the components of FactorySuite
2000.
SuiteLink is an alternative to DCOM over the network, just like fastDDE is an
alternative to DDE.
Recommended is combining OPC (OPCLink) locally with SuiteLink over the network.
Licentieopbouw
Geen onderscheid tussen runtime- en
engineeringsysteem, licenties op basis van aantal tags en functie van het SCADA
station in een netwerk.
Wonderware software is licensed using a "soft"
license, a "soft” license locked to a hardware key (dongle), or a paper license
(only for FactoryFocus Site, IndustrialSQL CAL, IndustrialSQL Internet
Connector, Scout, Crystal Reports and the FactorySuite Toolkit). Intouch has a
“soft” licence.
